Apply to Join the Ethics Commitee

CAA is looking for four new ethics officers to join the Ethics Committee, an important body that advises on the implementation of CAA’s ethics policy. Ethics Officers also coordinate the organisation’s ethics reporting process and investigations into potential breaches of the ethics policy. Applicants do not need to have a research background in ethics to be an officer, just a desire to improve the CAA and to foster a collegial, responsible, shared archaeology.

Interested applicants should send a current CV along with a brief motivational statement describing your experience and interest in the role to the CAA Secretary. The Ethics Committee should reflect the diversity of the membership, so students, early-career researchers, and members from historically underrepresented backgrounds and geographic regions are especially encouraged to apply. Review of applications will begin immediately and will be on-going until the positions are filled.
