Information about CAA 2020 Oxford

CAA International apologizes for the delays incurred in the organization of CAA 2020 Oxford. This is causing significant uncertainty for CAA members who need to plan travel and accommodation.

Please note that CAA International is not in charge of conference organization; rather, this is the responsibility of local organizers. Having said this, CAA International is doing its best to support the local conference organizers to move things forward.

To help members plan, this is the general information CAA International has received from the local organizing committee.

We will provide regular updates whenever we receive additional information.

Registration:

The conference organizers have informed us that registration information will be available on Friday 6th of March.

We are assured by local organizers that there will be time to register at the early-bird rate, which is expected to remain open until two weeks before the conference.

Based on the information available to CAA International, the registration fees will be roughly 250GBP for student/low-income and 350GBP full registration. Late registration will be roughly 50GBP higher than early-bird registration. Please note: these are estimates based on information available to CAA International.

Refund policy for registration fees:

We are communicating with the local organizers to find out what their refund policy will be for paid registration fees.

Conference schedule:

A schedule of papers is being finalized. The dates and times of each session will be posted by early next week, and the preliminary paper schedule will follow shortly thereafter.  However, the paper schedule will be subject to change slightly between now and the conference if some presenters are unable to travel because of the coronavirus situation.

Remote or video presentation:

We are aware people may not be able to travel to the UK. We will explore options with the local organizers but we do not think at this time it will be feasible to accommodate remote presentations.

Coronavirus Covid-19:

We are aware this is causing additional uncertainty. We are monitoring the rapidly-evolving situation and its potential impact on the conference.

The local organizers and CAA International will follow University of Oxford and the UK Government policies concerning the coronavirus.
