CAA CS is a group of researchers interested in the issue of computer applications in archaeology and the use of modern methods in the documentation, analysis and protection of archaeological heritage. It aims to find innovative theoretical and methodical approaches to study the past humans and the landscape. Since 2002, it has been organizing the annual conference “Computer Applications in Archaeology”, where the latest findings in the field are presented. Several Czech and Slovak archaeological institutions involved in the activities of CAA CS take turns in organizing the conference. The conferences are held in the Czech Republic and Slovakia and serve as a platform for meetings of members.
CAA CS je uskupením zájemců o problematiku počítačové podpory v archeologii a aplikaci moderních metod při dokumentaci, studiu a ochraně archeologických památek. Zaměřuje se na hledání inovativních teoretických a metodických přístupů ke studiu člověka a krajiny v minulosti. Od roku 2002 každoročně pořádá konferenci „Počítačová podpora v archeologii“, kde jsou prezentovány nejnovější poznatky z dané oblasti. O pořadatelství se střídá několik českých a slovenských archeologických institucí, zapojených do činnosti CAA CS. Konference se konají v České republice i na Slovensku a slouží též jako platforma pro jednání členů.
