We are pleased to report that CAA 2026 will be hosted from 31 March – 3 April in Vienna, Austria. Please read below for more information on the proposed plans for holding the 53rd CAA conference in this beautiful and historic city!
Conference Venue: University of Vienna, Main Building

Located within Vienna’s historic centre, directly on Vienna’s Ringstrasse boulevard, the Main Building of the University of Vienna is easy to reach. The building, designed by Heinrich Ferstel, was built Italian Renaissance style and was inaugurated in 1884. In the heart of the Main Building is the green Arcaded Courtyard. In the middle of the Courtyard, you can find the Castalia fountain, which is surrounded by the Arcaded Courtyard’s walkways with their numerous busts and monuments.

31 March 2026, Workshops and Ice Breaker The Ice Breaker reception will be held at the Kunsthistorisches Museum, one of the most impressive museum buildings of the nineteenth century.
1 April 2026, Keynotes and Opening Day of Presentations
2 April 2026, Presentations, the Annual General Meeting, and Conference Dinner There are several beautiful and historic options for the conference dinner, such as Zwolf Apostelkeller, Esterházykeller, and Heuriger 10er Marie.
3 April 2026, Final day of presentations
4 April 2026, Optional Excursions:
Heldenberg, Neolithic Village: Heldenberg, located near Hollabrunn in Lower Austria, is the site of a reconstruction of a ring ditch and several buildings from the Middle Neolithic Lengyel culture.
Carnuntum, Roman archaeological park: The Archaeological Park Carnuntum, in the east of Austria, was an important Roman settlement founded in the middle of the first century AD at a crossing point of trade.
